What a fantastic TV. Picture quality amazing, sound fantastic. What a great price i got it for too. Amazon could not be beat, even with the £[...] delivery charge added on ! I have not experienced any clicking noise as reported in a previous review. I do not leave the TV on standby. I swith it off with the touch button on top of the Tv itself. Remote works well with such a wide range of settings. This would be my only criticism. It would be good if Sony published recommended settings. I feel i can change so many settings on it i don't know which one to change to get the best best picture. I did email Sony and still have no reply 1 month later. All in all a brilliant television.
Beautiful TV, with a brilliant, crisp image. The speaker system integrated into the TV is satisfactory, but if you are willing to shell out thi$ much for a TV, I would expect you should look for an additional sound system. This raises the overall cost of the package, but well worth having the strong bass of a subwoofer to compliment the great picture you have here. I've also looked at the "V" series from Sony, but can only see a VERY marginal improvement over this TV. When you compare the specs side by side, I don't know why you would want to spring for the more expensive "V". The remote works well too. However, I've noticed a strange clicking sound from the back of the unit when left turned off.....every 2 minutes or so. I researched the SONY website in detail and couldn't find any reference to the problem. The manual indicates that one should unplug the unit when not in use. I find this to be a highly unreasonable requirement on the consumer. Also note that the support from Sony's website is poor, and they don't even accept email queries for problems like my "clicking" noise. So yes, the Sony brand is top shelf, but if you do have a problem, be prepared to have little support or means of contacting Sony.... KDL40S2010 Amazon
